OUR DAILY PROGRAM

MORNING ARRIVAL

Our day begins at 8:30 a.m. The children are welcomed with warm, positive greetings. Parents dropping off their children are able to leave knowing that their children are happy, safe and comfortable. The children then have free play time providing them the opportunity to settle in for the reminder of the day.

OFF WE GO TO THE PARK

We usually organize a trip to the park (weather permitting). Depending on the weather, we may stay outside for as much as 4 hours. We always bring food, beverages and supplies to the park and have a picnic.
During inclement weather ( low temperatures, rain, snow, and high winds) we stay indoors and have many activities such as,, reading books, playing with toys, and participating in organized art, music, and dance activities that include gross motor and fine motor skills. We also take advantage of our location and organize trips to several nearby destinations including the Museum of Natural History, The Children's Museum of Manhattan and New York Public Library.

NOON LUNCH TIME

Whether we are indoors or outdoors, we gather and the children eat their prepared lunches at noon.

CIRCLE TIME

Everyday we have a circle with the participation of the children inclusive of; reading stories, making music, singing, dancing and celebrating holidays and birthdays.

NAPTIME (lasting 1 to 1 ½ hrs)

Our children tire after all the activities and are ready for a nap. We tuck them in with positive warmth, hugs and song. During nap time, we observe the children constantly. Of course, there are times when a child doesn't or can't sleep. We attend to that child with hugs and quiet play and perhaps a snack or a drink.

AFTERNOON WAKE UP

We let the children get up gently at their own pace in the afternoon. We sometimes take the children outdoors again (weather permitting) Indoors we do art projects, sing, read, and have free play.

PREPARATIONS FOR GOING HOME

After a good, full day we prepare the children to go home. We clean up, put on the children's outer clothing, tell our friends we will see them tomorrow, and say good bye.
